Oil & Gas

Oil & Gas operations of the Trust operate identically to that of a typical Oil & Gas Royalty Trust. The focus of ART's oil & gas business will be to identify:

• Opportunities in the < 1000 boe/d size range that are normally too small for most pure play energy trusts.
  
• Assets with a 6 to 8 year reserve life target.

In addition, the Trust will be proactive in strategies of:

• Hedging commodity exposure, and
• Formalizing relationships to develop land opportunities and in effect "feed the trust".
  
  

Financial Services

The Financial Services arm of the Trust is similar in concept to a Merchant Bank. Potential investment opportunities include those in which a portion of a company is purchased through an investment vehicle that offers attractive returns in conjunction with lower risk or measures in place to aid in risk reduction. The Trust will look to industry sectors where their expertise lie or where management of the investee company has demonstrated a significant track record.

• Focus in areas of expertise outside of the Real Estate and Energy industries, that produce attractive yields.
  
• Develop opportunities through high yield financial contracts, investments and leasing.
  
  

Real Estate

The real estate arm of the Trust will:

• Focus in solid markets in Western Canada, specifically B.C. and Alberta.
  
• Target a 9% to 10% yield.
  
• Target a debt ratio: 60% to 65%.
